What those numbers actually tell you
First-timers who prepare pass. An 87% first-time rate is a prepared-cohort number — most candidates are working paralegals who took the runway seriously. The repeat rate falling to ~60% is the warning: the second climb is statistically harder, which is why retakers need a different plan, not the same one again (that’s the entire premise of THE SECOND ASCENT).
The cut is around 68% — on 135 multiple-choice questions plus two essays, that leaves you roughly 43 questions of room. But the clock is the silent failer: 2:00 per question feels generous until the maintenance math shows up. Our free drill grades you at a 1:30 training pace so exam day feels slow.
